Today my friend Viktor picked me up so we could go to a premiere at MNT.
I got into the car but deliberately didn’t put my seatbelt on so the seatbelt alarm would start beeping. It did start, but very unevenly, and the sound was really irritating.
He said, “Please, just buckle up, I can’t listen to that sound.”
And I said, “Wait, I can’t buckle up yet – I’m listening to the tonality and sonority of this seatbelt alarm. But wait, what are you even driving?”
“Nissan…”
I said: “You know what the sound was like in the Porsche when I made polyphony out of the seatbelt alarm and the human voice…it was so sophisticated ”
He replied that he wouldn’t know what it sounds like because he don’t have a Porsche.
He said: ”it’s basically a low-budget car for a low-budget model like me”
I asked him: “So what’s the difference between a Nissan and a Porsche in terms of sound?”
He said, “difference is only in €250,000.”
Then we got out of the car and went to the theatre premiere.
